This week brings major changes across Teams Copilot meeting experiences, Copilot app Notebooks, SharePoint agents discovery, and Purview DLM cleanup workflows.

Microsoft Purview Data Lifecycle Management is adding a priority cleanup workflow that can permanently delete specific OneDrive and SharePoint content types, even if retention policies or holds exist. The workflow includes required eDiscovery admin review/approval to maintain compliance. Review your governance and processes if you need accelerated cleanup for Copilot-related content growth and exposure risk.

Teams will support generating Copilot meeting recaps using live meeting context without saving a transcript (or recording) when those artifacts are not preferred or allowed. Microsoft is updating the Notebooks experience in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app to organize work across conversations, with sync to OneNote. Notebooks are also being made available to Copilot Chat (Basic) / M365 Copilot (Basic) users, expanding access beyond add-on licensing. Prepare for wider end-user adoption and update internal guidance on how Notebooks should be used and governed.

The new SharePoint experience will begin rolling out to GA starting June 15, including simplified item-keeping aligned to a single Favorites gesture across Microsoft 365. Followed Sites will become Favorite Sites, and Saved for Later for pages/news posts will become Favorites. Update user communications and any training/materials that reference the previous terminology and UI.

Teams will prompt users to opt in to express voice enrollment by speaking during a meeting to create a voice profile. Voice profiles enable features such as voice isolation, speaker recognition/identification, improved transcripts, and enhanced meeting recaps and insights with Copilot. Decide whether to enable/disable this for your organization and align with privacy guidance and user messaging.

Teams is introducing a centralized governance experience in the Teams admin center for built-in agents (such as Channel Agent, Facilitator, and Copilot Agent in Teams) that do not come from the app store. This separates built-in agent governance from traditional apps and enables more precise policy management. Review your agent governance model and adjust policies as these controls appear in your tenant.

Users will be able to find and add SharePoint agents directly from Teams chats via the chat roster dropdown, as well as from the Teams Store under Agents. Copilot Analytics is adding broader metrics to help admins understand engagement with Copilot across the Copilot app, Edge, OneNote, and intent-based usage across Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. This expands reporting for adoption and value measurement in Copilot Dashboard and Advanced Analysis. Review your reporting baselines and ensure stakeholders know which metrics will change/appear.

Microsoft 365 Copilot will enhance personalization by using chat history and will refresh settings to help users view and manage Saved Memory. Copilot in Word is gaining deeper native editing capabilities to handle complex edits while respecting formatting and collaboration history. Outlook for iOS is updating PDF preview to support Microsoft Information Protection (MIP)–labeled PDFs and adds a built-in toolbar for navigation and search.
