This week brings Copilot URL, identity, sharing, and credits updates alongside new Teams and Copilot features.

Microsoft will redirect users from m365.cloud.microsoft to copilot.cloud.microsoft starting in early September 2026 (and in October for tenants where copilot.cloud.microsoft access is currently blocked). If your organization blocks or filters the new domain, Copilot access may be disrupted. Review proxy/firewall/conditional access and allow connectivity to copilot.cloud.microsoft before the redirect reaches your tenant.

• Validate DNS, TLS inspection, and URL allowlists for the new host
• Organizations blocking the new host will see redirect later (October) but still need to remediate

Microsoft has begun rolling out self-service migration of Copilot Studio agents to Microsoft Entra Agent IDs. Agents created before May 2026 may still use legacy app-registration identities; migrating improves governance and security. Review your existing agents and plan migrations to standardize identity and auditing.

Microsoft 365 Copilot will allow users to share an entire Copilot chat session or a single response by generating a shareable link for people in the same organization. This changes how Copilot content can circulate internally and may affect data handling and user guidance. Update internal usage policies and training for sharing AI outputs.

The grace period ends September 1, 2026 for agents and workflows built with the GitHub Copilot harness in Copilot Studio. These will begin consuming Copilot Credits under usage-based billing, including maker AI authoring and runtime execution. Identify affected agents and update cost controls and chargeback expectations.

Teams admin center is getting an org-wide single view to monitor and troubleshoot meetings and calls. This consolidates discovery and triage workflows for IT and can change how admins locate problem sessions. Review documentation and update operational runbooks once it arrives in your tenant.

• Search using meeting identifiers and filters to speed up troubleshooting

Microsoft is adding Ask Copilot in Teams so users can invoke Copilot from a specific message or selected text and automatically include it as context. This reduces copy/paste and increases Copilot usage directly in conversations. Prepare user guidance around what content is included and appropriate prompts.

Copilot Chat will detect email-writing intent and create an embedded Outlook draft within Copilot, which users can open in Outlook Mobile to edit and send. This streamlines mobile email drafting and may affect user expectations for where drafts are created and stored. Consider communications and support readiness for the new workflow.

Microsoft is consolidating roadmap information by renaming the Microsoft 365 Roadmap to the AI at Work Roadmap and moving Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and Dataverse content into the same destination. Release Planner will retire on November 15, 2026 and release-wave communications shift toward continuous disclosure. Update internal planning links, governance processes, and stakeholder communications to use the new roadmap source.

Facilitator support is expanding to Teams channel meetings, enabling agenda management, note-taking, Q&A handling, and task management in that meeting type. Organizations using Facilitator should validate meeting policies and train meeting organizers on the new availability. Rollout starts mid-September 2026 (Targeted) and late September 2026 (GA).

Copilot in PowerPoint will support organization skills—reusable, tenant-managed guidance that can be applied during Copilot use in PowerPoint web, Windows desktop, and Mac. Admins can add and share these skills via the Microsoft 365 admin center. Consider governance for skill creation and distribution before broad user adoption.

Agent 365 adds a new export that lists users who actively used agents registered in the tenant’s Agent 365 Registry in the last 30 days. This improves visibility for licensing review and usage governance. AI Admins and Global Admins should incorporate the report into compliance and cost-management routines.
