Copilot expanded mobile capture and trial access while admins gained new controls and management improvements.

Users will be able to record in-person conversations or voice notes in the Microsoft 365 Copilot mobile app and receive an AI-generated transcript and summary in Copilot Chat when recording ends. This broadens Copilot’s capture-and-summarize workflow to mobile scenarios. Review compliance/retention expectations for recorded content and user guidance for appropriate use.

The Microsoft 365 Admin agent is moving to general availability, providing an AI-assisted experience across the Microsoft 365 admin center and Copilot Chat for admins. It supports natural-language discovery, troubleshooting, configuration and governance while respecting RBAC and requiring admin approval before changes. Ensure admins know where to access it and validate operational processes for change approvals.

PowerPoint Copilot will support personal, user-defined custom skills stored in OneDrive so users can extend Copilot with their own skill folders (with SKILL.md) that appear in the Copilot Skills menu. Users can enable/disable skills via a new Manage Skills experience in the Copilot pane. Consider governance guidance for acceptable skill content and OneDrive locations.

Organizations will be able to configure a link to internal policy or guidance that appears when a user is blocked from accessing Copilot Chat in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app. This reduces helpdesk friction by directing users to the right information and next steps. Prepare the URL and align messaging with your Copilot access policy.

Copilot declarative agents can now have multiple owners instead of only the creator. This improves continuity and team-based maintenance of agents. Review internal ownership practices and ensure appropriate people are assigned to shared agents.

PowerPoint for the web will add new ribbon entry points for Copilot: Review Presentation and Visualize Slide. This makes Copilot assistance easier to discover and use during editing. Update user training/help content if you standardize PowerPoint web usage.

OneNote Mobile on iPhone will introduce a Copilot chat pane and a Summary feature for longer pages for users licensed with Microsoft 365 Copilot. This enables on-the-go summarization and Q&A over notes directly in the app. Validate mobile app readiness and communicate availability to licensed users.

Read Aloud is gaining Copilot Q&A so users can ask questions about document content while listening. The initial rollout is enabled for en-US only, and requires a Microsoft 365 Copilot license. Plan for language/region expectations and user support for early availability constraints.

Eligible SMB users will be able to start a 30-day Microsoft 365 Copilot trial without entering payment information, enabled by default for eligible tenants. Admins retain visibility/control via license requests in the Microsoft 365 admin center. If you want to limit self-service trials, review your licensing and request governance settings and communications.

Microsoft is improving the Cost Management experience in the Microsoft 365 admin center for usage-based services (including Cowork and Work IQ APIs). Updates address alert reliability, spending policy selection for users in multiple policies, and overage handling. Re-check spending policies and alerting behavior if you rely on cost controls for Copilot-related usage-based services.
